YOUR DOSE · FOLLOW YOUR PRESCRIPTION
50 units (0.5 mL = 50 mg) twice weekly. Use the SQ or IM route prescribed for you.
Units refer to U-100 syringe markings.
20 doses at 50 U using U-100 and 10 mL final volume.
Supply estimate: at least 5 weeks. Follow the discard date on your vial.
Change your dose only when your care team gives you the new amount and start date.

1 U-100 marking = 0.01 mL. Multiply the amount per vial by the mL drawn, then divide by the final mL in the vial. Amounts are rounded for display; match the vial label and written order.
Add 10 ml BAC water to the vial. Inject it slowly down the inside wall of the vial, then gently swirl until dissolved; do not shake. Use sterile technique.

USE & FOLLOW-UP
SQ (subcutaneous) or IM (intramuscular), as prescribed. Use the needle and technique specified for that route.
For SQ, use the prescribed subcutaneous site; for IM, use a site selected and taught by a clinician. Rotate sites; route-specific training required.
Use only the route on your written order. SQ and IM use different needles, tissue layers, and training; do not switch routes yourself.

Choose fatty tissue at least 2 inches (5 cm) from the navel.

Choose healthy fatty tissue below the ribs and above the hip bone.

A trained helper can use the fatty tissue on the back of the upper arm.

Choose fatty tissue on the outer middle thigh, away from the knee and hip.

These illustrations identify tissue layers and example angles; they are not to scale. Needle length, angle and whether to lift a fold depend on the prescribed device and your training; stop and ask the clinic if either is unspecified.
Match name, vial strength, final concentration, SQ route, expiration and discard date to your prescription. Use the prescribed U-100 syringe only if the order specifies it; its marks measure volume.
Wash and dry hands. Use a clean surface, a new sterile needle and syringe, and an alcohol pad. Check solution appearance, clean the stopper and let it dry. Draw only the prescribed volume and recheck the mark and bubbles.
Choose one healthy site shown above and rotate each time. Avoid red, hard, bruised, scarred or tender skin. Clean the spot and let it dry. Do not touch it again.
Gently lift a skin-and-fat fold if your training calls for it. Use the 45° or 90° angle specified for your needle and body habitus. Insert into fat, press the plunger steadily, then withdraw at the same angle.
Press clean gauze if needed; do not rub. Do not recap or reuse the needle. Put needle and syringe immediately in a sharps container; close it at about three-quarters full and use local disposal rules.

Upper arm
The muscle on the outer upper arm, below the shoulder bone. Use the center of the muscle area shown.

Front outer thigh
The muscle on the front outer side of the thigh. Use the middle third between the hip and knee.
The green areas show the muscle regions. Locate your exact injection point using the technique demonstrated to you. Alternate sides and use a different spot each time.

Match the vial and dose to your instructions. Wash and dry your hands. Use a new sterile syringe and the IM needle supplied for you. Inspect the solution, clean the vial stopper and measure your dose.
Use the deltoid or vastus lateralis area shown above, following your injection training. Rotate sides and spots. Avoid bruised, sore, red or damaged skin. Clean the spot and let it dry.
Hold the muscle steady as taught. Insert the IM needle straight into the muscle at 90°, press the plunger steadily, then withdraw straight out.
Apply clean gauze if needed. Place the needle and syringe directly in a sharps container without recapping. Never reuse them. Record the dose, side and site.
Do not double, repeat, or titrate without the written order. Contact the clinic for a discrepancy, uncertain storage, or unexpected reaction; urgent symptoms need emergency care.
Reorder before the earlier of measured supply and the dispensing label's discard date; confirm the active course and dose.
Current dose, frequency, response, side effects, weight/goal changes if relevant, missed doses, remaining supply, and any new medications or medical changes.
Previous product name, dose, last injection date, side effects, response, reason for switching, current medications, and confirmation that switching is appropriate.
